'Safe & Sound' - Dudley's Community Safety Partnership

The Community Safety Partnership brings together the Borough's key agencies and statutory partners:

"To work together to make the Borough a place where people feel safe and are safe."

It has set its priorities as:

  • Firstly, publishing and implementing a three-year strategy to reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour while reassuring our community and reducing their fear of crime.

  • Secondly, overseeing the provision of drug and alcohol treatment services for the Borough.

The Partnership ensures that its plans and service delivery for each of these priorities are co-ordinated and complementary.  In this way, the number of substance misusers who get treatment will be maximised, thus reducing acquisitive crime and the Partnership’s crime reduction and prevention initiatives will focus on reducing the number of people who become substance misusers.  It differs from other theme partnerships in that it is a ‘statutory partnership’ set up by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.
