Dudley’s Local Compact is a partnership agreement between the local public agencies in Dudley Borough, including the Council, and the voluntary and community sector. Dudley’s first Compact was published in June 2002 and has since been revised to take on board all members of the Dudley Community Partnership. The revised Local Compact was formally signed by representatives of the Partnership in May 2004. The Local Compact recognises the invaluable contribution made by voluntary and community organisations to the Borough. It sets out a number of principles and undertakings on behalf of local agencies and the voluntary and community sector in order to improve relationships and to work more effectively together in improving the quality of life in the Borough. There is a Steering Group for the Local Compact, and a number of sub-groups which lead on activities around Volunteering, Consultation and Funding.
