Strategic Housing and Environment Partnership (SHEP)

SHEP brings together all the key agencies in the Borough with an interest in meeting the Government’s ‘liveability’ and housing targets i.e. to create cleaner, safer and greener communities and to improve the borough’s housing in line with the ‘decent homes standard’

SHEP has sets its priorities as:

  • Cleaner streets and environments by reducing litter, other waste and debris and abandoned vehicles.  This will focus on prevention through education and widespread community engagement.

  • Improving the quality of local authority housing and also private housing occupied by vulnerable households, in line with the Government’s ‘Decent Homes standard’ and to improve the environment around where people live.

  • Better quality parks and green spaces and access to such facilities.

SHEP is currently revising its Action Plan around the above priorities.

Please see documents below for SHEP Membership and Structure as at June 2010
